Yey update is finally done (Thanks to Linda =)). we’re pretty much caught up with the backlog of images now…I think between the export a few hours ago, and the import 5 new images surfaced — those will have to wait until the next update.

To find out if any of your images got added, the best thing to do is do a search. We’re working on a new script that can email you (if so desired) if your image is accepted, with the appropriate image ID number. Spread your pictures around to your friends, everyone needs a good laugh!

Just wanted to write a quick note to apologize for the errors the day before yesterday, we were having some technical difficulties which have now been fully fixed and with any luck should not happen again for a long time. We do keep image backups and stuff just in case the site goes down, so know that everything is safe, even during technical difficulties. Horrah for backups. RSHumor was a bit more popular last month than we had expected, so we had to do some software upgrades.

Anyway, Linda is working on another update, which should be decent in size, should be done in a day or so if she gets off her butt and fixes it!! =(

It’s official, though we are a few days late as I’ve been out of town. RSHumor is now two years old =). I believe it’s fair to say now, the ones who thought the site would never get anywhere have been proven wrong, and then some.

We’ve also added 169 new images for your enjoyment. We’re nearing 6,000 funny runescape pictures, and the site gets better and better every day as we make small changes to improve performance and experience.

Okay the novelty of writing a blog post has officially worn off, but there is much to cover =).

This evening (late) we moved to a new server at a wonderful data center with the help of a wonderful man (Thanks Drew) as the site is pretty fragile and huge. You should notice load times improving once everything settles down, and DNS’ start to propagate around the world. Hopefully you will not have an interruption!

Linda is currently working on an update, which should follow in a day or two, or three, or four — if she ever wakes up! =(.

We’ve made a few tweaks to the systems recently, and are working on a few more things. Mostly subtle changes to make things easier and more seamless. We need new ideas for new features for the new RSHumor Engine that we’re working on — there’s a few major things in the works, but those wont be done for a long time due to the massiveness.

In other news:
I just drank all my tea, and am now slightly depressed, but I think it will be ok…maybe.

But the bottom line is this:

After making the cute xmas banner I wasn’t really looking forward to going back to the original banner .. but alas, it must be done .. or does it?

So yeh I made a new one. Travis calls it icandy. Let me see if I can find his exact response..

There are going to be a few more changes coming soon as well. How soon depends on how much free time I have and how frustrated I get =P

In other [not so new] news, Travis and I both use AIM; Travis is Rshumour (though he’s never on) and I can be found via Rshumor. Whether you just want to chat, complain about a picture that’s not quite as funny as it should be or asking why the sky is blue, I’ll be happy to talk if I’m around =)

OH and I nearly forgot.. I nagged Travis in the past about it, and again just a little bit ago because I absolutely hated the default theme for the blog. Well, I went and did some quick searching and found a quite nice theme so it is now sexy .. just like the banner ^^

Congratulations — you managed to find the new location of the blog, and have uncovered one of the major changes.

#1 - After discovering that most people who got to rshumor.com were immediately finding there way to rshumor.net (their original desired destination) we decided it may be best to move the blog all together, and have the rshumor.com domain name now lead directly to rshumor.net for your convenience.

#2 - The most obvious of the changes will probably be that we have reverted back to our pre-holiday themed layout. Linda is working on a new banner as we quickly realised that the current one is so blah after the previous one which was very busy and fun. We’ll work on some more layout tweaks in the coming weeks hopefully :).

#3 - This one is the most important in my opinion. We have made it so now you can access and embed rshumor pictures on forums and other places without necessarily having to save them to your computer and reupload them to another image host. Now when you right click them and view the image location, you will see it is a standard JPG which you can use as a normal picture and hotlink it wherever you wish. Hopefully you enjoy this new feature, it saves you time, and it was bugging Linda and I as well that the images bad been so difficult to share, when our logs show that is what you, and most everyone who visits does — shares the images you enjoy.

1 Small Change - We have opened up commenting on the blog, so now you can leave feedback and stuff much more easily, if there’s things you want to see or whatever. There is a strict anti-spam mitigation system set up…so don’t talk about viagra or whatever or it wont let your comment show up.

We’ll update again soon…still waiting for a few more images to come in :).

Double-updates are quite fun…Some of the image ID’s are in the 3000’s because we replace some of the rejected image numbers with newer pictures to keep the image ID’s for new ones kind of representative of the total amount of images that are in the database (and viewable).

Quick little new-years update for all of you :). Linda is going to go through the rest of the pictures waiting tomorrow…determined to catch up this week :).

Only about 400 left to go through (not to add…some will be rejected).

Wow it’s been incredible — It’s not yet officially 2008, but this will have to suffice.

Overall — all of the statistics for this year are nearly a direct double (increase of 100%) over the year 2006. Hopefully we can make this happen again in 2008 :).

Linda is still working on a massive update, slowly plunking along on it, she should be done soon-ish!

RSHumor will be 2 years old on January 27th :). What a ride it’s been. Thanks to everyone who supports us and those especially who submit pictures. We appreciate each and every one of you.

As it stands currently, it’s approximately 7 minutes from midnight in the Pacific (-8) region…so it only seems appropriate to be a little early in saying Merry (or Happy to our English viewers) Christmas to everyone (or Happy Holidays if we must be politically correct). This year has been incredible…we never in our wildest dreams thought the site would become this popular. To date no one has managed to successfully replicate what you guys have helped to create, and that is something that we are more than proud of, originality.

Things may be kind of quiet on the front side of things until New Years (but I will start thumbing through and rejecting images during that period) — both Linda and I will be much more active once things come around and we hope to have some fun things in this upcoming year. The site will be 2 years old on Jan 8th I believe, so that is quite exciting.

I’ll post some stats about the previous year come Jan 1, so you all can see the amazing accomplishments of rshumor, but the general consensus is that we want to double any figures which I will be publishing next year, there is so many people who do not yet know about rshumor and who would really enjoy it. Help get the word out

Keep submitting those pictures, we’ll do our best to catch up ASAP.
